The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

This is The GBU, a minimalist newsletter with three goals:

  • 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Keep friends, family and friends of the show informed about the progress of my startup company.
  • 🗒️ Be a company diary. Whatever happens, in this newsletter you can find out the origins of the success or demise of the company. Future team members can see whether we're working according to the original vision or whether we've pivoted.
  • 🎯 An accountability hack. By having an update once a week and a free public post once a month, I force myself to create progress on the company, despite other things that might get in the way.

Why the name? I want my company to be fun, honest and simple. I want to do that by giving you updates on what went good, what went bad, and what's really ugly right now. The format is simple. The content is honest. The tone is fun. It's also one of my favorite movies of all time.

Over the next weeks I'll write posts about:

  • The story so far
  • The mission - what do we want to solve and for whom
  • The vision - how do we see the product solving that need
  • Building a team - how do I plan to add founders and founding engineers to the team
  • (FREE) WBSO - investigate whether or not WBSO subsidy can be a match for a founder to bootstrap the company.
